Northern Arizona Watercolor Society Figure Drawing Demonstration

DESCRIPTION - Adding a suggestion of people to a painting adds interest and scale. Whether painting people sitting, standing or even doing everyday things indoors or outdoors placing figurative reference creates a focal point. In this workshop you will learn to paint asuggestion of figures in movement, with Pash as the model, and concentrating on shapes. Waddell’s Studio & Sculpture Garden

DESCRIPTION - Bring lunch and drawing materials to this special field trip, which is an alternative to the Monday life drawing group that usually meets at Sedona Arts Center! Pash will dance into poses with the life-sized sculptures of Master Sculptor John Waddell. Afterwards, have lunch and take an artwalk to see the works of John and Ruth Waddell.

Visual Dreaming in the Life Studio

DESCRIPTION - Pash will model for this workshop that approaches working from “life” through the graphic priorities of “painting,” as opposed to anatomy. The “model” will serve as a relative reference point within the studio, and the focus will be on responses to visual possibilities. Sedona Arts Festival - Draw-a-thon

Figurative Painter’s Retreat @ SAC

This workshop pushes you out of your safe zone and into a new, looser, abstract direction drawing, painting and collaging the nude. Sedona Wine Festival - Paint Out

LOCATION - Posse Grounds Park, Sedona, AZ

COST - $35 advance/$40 door

Pash will pose in a toga with a wine barrel and grapes while 10 Plein Air artists paint. Finished paintings will be judged and available for purchase at this yearly event where you can also tast and buy local wines, enjoy excellent food, and learn about the history of wine, the wine industry, and how to enhance your tasting experience. “Breath of Fresh Air” Sedona Plein Air Workshop w/ Kevin Macpherson

This workshop will illuminate the path to more successful paintings. Demonstrations will break down the complexity of painting to reveal the magical process in simple-to-understand terms. With colorful instruction, investigation will be made into the problem-solving methods of past masters. Sculpting a Character Bust @ SAC with Susan Kliewer

Working with a master artist you'll move from first principles to nuance and exaggeration and learn to sculpt a convincing female bust. Students will be using oil base clay over a simple armature. The first day you will explore the basic structure of the head and features the second two days you'll learn to work from a live model capturing the specifics of character and expression. The Figure Revealed: Artists & Muse

DESCRIPTION - Exhibit of figure art created by artists from the Monday life drawing group at Sedona Arts Center. Includes live contact improvisational dance & poses with Pash and guest model, Mark Stevens during the 1/26 opening and 2/2 closing receptions. Also, 1/27 demonstrations of carving portraits in wood with sculptor Charles DeLay, and gesture drawing and instruction with artist J. Menzel-Joseph. Plus, 1st Friday, 2/2, demonstrations with artists including Jim Joseph-Menzel, Charles DeLay, Patty Miller, and Greg Evans. And opportunities to attend 1/29 and 2/5 open studio life drawing groups. Capturing Beauty in Clay Retreat

Alla Prima Figure Painting w/ David Shevlino

DESCRIPTION - Pash is a figure model for this class about painting the figure alla prima (wet into wet) and the techniques used to create a fresh, direct response to subjects. After an initial demonstration, students will work on their own and learn to interpret and simplify their subject by seeing it as a series of basic shapes and forms as described by simple masses of color/ light and shadow.
